Baseball Starts Conference With a Win, Defeating Pasadena City College 4-3

PASADENA, Calif. – The Warriors continue their six game winning streak, defeating the Pasadena City College Lancers, 4-3 in the first conference game of the season.

The first two innings were slow for the Warriors and the Lancers got on the board first, scoring their first run in the bottom of the 2nd inning.  

The Warriors responded in the top of the 4th with Noah Barba singling to center field bringing in Brady Dorn. The Warriors tied the game in the 4th inning, 1-1.

In the top of the 5th, Ty Conrad started the inning with a base hit. Following Conrad, Dorn walked advancing Conrad to second. Angel Mora then singled to left, loading the bases. Ryan Eastburn walked, brining in Conrad, which extended the score for the Warriors, 2-1.

In the top of the 6th, Conrad doubled down the left field line bringing in Cody Wissler and Hunter Lewis, and the Warriors were up 4-1 after seven innings.

The Lancers answered back scoring two runs in last two innings, but the Warriors were still victorious, and defeated the Lancers 4-3.

Cassius Hamm pitched 8 innings, allowing seven hits, two runs, five strikeouts and one walk. Jake Carr closed the game in the 9th inning, allowing two hits, one run and two strikeouts.

Ty Conrad went 2 for 5, with a double and two RBI.

Coach Nathan Fernley commented, "Trevor Casanova and Ty Conrad really set the tone for us offensively. Cassius Hamm pitched well to keep us in the game."

The Warriors face the Lancers again at home on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
