Beach Volleyball Edged by Mount San Antonio, Defeats Cuesta

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College split the day on Friday afternoon, falling in a South Coast Conference tilt to Mount San Antonio and then defeating Cuesta in a non-conference affair.

MT. SAC 3, WARRIORS 2

The Warriors opened SCC play on Friday against Mt. SAC and fell one point short of victory. The Mounties jumped out to a 2-0 lead with wins on court one and court three but the duo of Scheala Nielsen and Maddie Gloria got one point back on court five to make it 2-1.

The games on court two and court four each went to a decisive third set and both games were nearly identical in the pace.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Mt. SAC pulled out the win on court four to clinch the victory with Erica Griffiths and Zoe Lekan claiming the win on court two shortly thereafter to round out the final score.

WARRIORS 4, CUESTA 1

The Warriors cruised to a win in their last match of the day as they only dropped the game on court one before sweeping the rest of the courts.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday, March 7 with two conference matches at College of the Desert. The Warriors will face the host Roadrunners as well as Long Beach City.
