TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College recorded a 5-0 sweep over visiting Cypress on Wednesday morning at the ECC Sand Courts.

Although the Warriors took all five games, it was not as easy as the final tally indicated. The final three matches of the day required three sets to be decided with the Warriors pulling out all three with two of them going down to the wire.

The duo of Kayla Keyzer and Bianca Atienza-Perez put the Warriors on the board first in the No. 3 match, scoring a 2-0 (22-20, 21-15) victory.

The No. 5 squad of Yasmin Watanabe and Crystal Salgado followed up shortly thereafter with a 2-0 win of their own to make it 2-0 Warriors, putting ECC just one win away from clinching the match.

But the final three matchups required deciding third sets with Sophia Ortiz and Erica Griffiths needing to work overtime in an 18-16 third set to clinch the match for the Warriors.

The No. 1 team of Bridget Dorr and Ryan D'Angelo also edged their opponents by a narrow margin, scoring a 15-12 win the third while Adelynn Abrams and Perla Lopez securing a much lower stressed 15-5 win in the No. 4 matchup.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday with a South Coast Conference doubleheader against College of the Desert and Cerritos at the Civic Center Park in Palm Springs, Calif.
