Beach Volleyball Edges Grossmont for Seventh Straight Win

Beach Volleyball Edges Grossmont for Seventh Straight Win

TORRANCE, Calif. --- In one of the closest matches of the season, El Camino College found a way to pull off a 3-2 victory over visiting Grossmont Wednesday afternoon at the ECC Sand Courts.

The Warriors took down the No. 3, 4, and 5 pairs contests to take the match. Three of the five pairs had to go three sets, with the Warriors taking two of those. In the No. 1 pairs match, Lauren McCarthy and Fayth Rascon dropped an epic second set against Madison Bogle and Alexcis Morris, falling 29-27 to drop the match 2-0.

But the Warriors persevered in the other matches as both the No. 4 and No. 5 pairs overcame 1-0 deficits to take the wins and clinch the match for the Warriors.

With the win, the Warriors have now won seven straight matches after dropping their first three of the season. They will host Rio Hondo, Bakersfield and MiraCosta on Friday at the ECC Sand Courts beginning at 10 a.m.
