Beach Volleyball Ranked Number One in AVCA Rankings
AVCA CCCAA Beach Rankings - March 10
El Camino College was ranked No. 1 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association California Community College Athletic Association Coaches' Poll, it was announced Tuesday.
The Warriors secure their first ever No. 1 ranking in the AVCA after posting a 10-1 overall record this season and 10-0 against CCCAA competition. The team's only loss of the year came at the hands of NCAA Division I opponent CSUN on the road.
On the year, the Warriors have recorded six 5-0 sweeps and three 4-1 victories. Their only five-set match came on Saturday when they defeated Cypress 3-2 at Warm Water Beach in Carlsbad, Calif.
In their last home matches on Feb. 28, the Warriors recorded 5-0 sweeps over Riverside, Cypress and San Diego Mesa and dropped just two of 32 sets played on the day.
The Warriors will return to action at home on Friday when they host Rio Hondo and Wayne State College, an NCAA Division II opponent. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
