Bio

Head Coach Steve Shaw begins his 17th season with the women's basketball program.  During his first nine years, he has been named Coach of the Year three times, most recently in 2005 when the Warriors won their first conference championship in school history.  Under his guidance, the program has become a regular contender for the conference championship and state playoffs.

Shaw grew up in the South Bay and was an all-league basketball and volleyball player at Aviation High School.  He focused on basketball as a student at El Camino College and earned All-Conference honors two times (1975-76) and received All-State recognition after his sophomore season.  He was a starter on an NCAA Tournament Elite Eight team his senior year at California State University, Fullerton.

Shaw received his bachelor's degree in physical education from California State University, Fullerton and his teaching credential from California State University, Fullerton and master's in physical education from California State University, Dominguez Hills.  He has taught at Redondo Union High School for 28 years.  During his time there he coached boys basketball, as well as boys and girls volleyball and softball.  In addition, he served as athletic director. 

He is married to Aida and they have two daughters, Erica and Carla.
