Gonzales Named 5CTCA Runner of the Week

5CTCA Runners of the Week - Week 10

SALINAS, Calif. --- El Camino College sophomore Sequoia Gonzales was named the 5CTCA Runner of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Gonazles finished second at the South Coast Conference Championships on Friday, posting a personal best time of 18:20.6.

In five meets this season, Gonzales has finished in second place in four of them. The lone non-runner up finish was at the season-opening Biola Inivtational where she finished 15th overall in a field mixed with NCAA and 3C2A competition. Amongst fellow 3C2A competitors, she also finished second with only Marbella Flores of East Los Angeles placing ahead of her.

The Warriors finished third overall at the SCC Championships thanks to Gonzales' efforts and will compete at the 3C2A Southern California Championships on Friday morning at El Dorado Park in Long Beach, Calif.
