Cohen Earns Regional Runner of the Week Honors

5CTCA Runners of the Week - Week 7

SALINAS, Calif. --- Freshman Aaron Cohen was named the 5CTCA Southern California Runner of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Cohen secured his first collegiate victory on Saturday at the Chaffey Invitational. He posted a time of 21:40.6, his second-best time of the season. He bested a 65-runner field over the five-mile course and helped lead the Warriors to a second-place team finish overall.

Cohen bested the field by 10 seconds with Vinnie Quiroz of San Bernardino Valley crossing at 21:50.2.

It was the first time the Warriors have had an athlete selected as the male regional runner of the week this season.

Alexis Noble of San Diego Mesa was named the 5CTCA SoCal women's Runner of the Week while Alan Solari (Diablo Valley) and Roselyn Olivo (Hartnell) earned the honors for Northern California.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday morning at the very competitive Mount San Antonio Invitational.
