VALLEY GLEN, Calif. --- El Camino College opened the 2023 campaign with a pair of losses to Chaffey and hosts L.A. Valley on Saturday afternoon at the L.A. Valley Mini Tournament.
The Warriors fell to Chaffey 16-12 in their first contest of the day. Melissa Cedarholm led the way offensively with five goals while Jackie Calhoun added three with two assists and three steals. Paulina Paumier added two goals and one assist while Katrina Sanchez made nine saves in the loss.
In the second match, the Warriors dropped a 20-6 decision to the host Monarchs. Calhoun led the way offensively with three more goals while Brooke Baudendistel added two and Cedarholm scored once in the loss.
The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday when they face Pasadena on the road in a South Coast Conference contest.
