Four Warriors Named All-Conference
TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had four players selected to the 2022 All-South Coast Conference Team, it was announced recently.
Melissa Brill and Jackie Calhoun earned first team selections while Lux Anne Vargas and Eden Brooke each earned second team selections. Freshman Leiana Gonzalez earned honorable mention.
Brill got her second straight All-SCC nod after getting a second team selection as a freshman. In 2022, Brill tied for the team lead with 55 goals scored. She also added 27 assists, second on the team. Brill would lead the Warriors with 54 steals and 19 field blocks, both tops on the team by double digits.
In Calhoun's first year with the Warriors, the freshman tied for the team lead in goals with 55 while playing in 21 matches. She added 15 assists while also posting 33 steals and nine field blocks, both second on the team behind Brill.
Brooke also played in 21 matches for ECC and scored 24 goals to go along with a team-leading 30 assists. She adde 32 steals and four field blocks.
Vargas played 17 matches as the team's goalie and made 162 saves on the season. She went 9-8 overall in net while also adding two steals.
Gonzalez played in 13 matches for the Warriors and scored 12 goals with eight assists and 12 steals.
