Clark, Dunn and Britton Earn Top Honors as All-Conference Teams Announced

TORRANCE, Calif. --- Freshman Karlee Clark and co-head coaches Darin Dunn and John Britton headlined the 2021 All-South Coast Conference, South Division Teams, which were announced Thursday.

Clark was named the 2021 Goalkeeper of the Year in the SCC-South after posting a 1.77 goals against average in 19 games played. She played in three shutouts and made 86 saves while recording eight victories in net.

Dunn assumed the role of co-head coach for the first time this year and along with Britton the duo helped lead the Warriors to the SCC-South Division crown, the team's first conference or division title since 1999. The squad's 9-8-2 overall record was the team's best mark since 2016.

Along with the big accolades, the Warriors also received eight All-Conference team selections with four each on the first and second teams.

Angelica Taylor, Sierra Rangel, Olivia Styskal-Ward and Gabriella De La Cruz were all named to the All-SCC, South First Team while Alexis Perez-Fonseca, Meila Bissoondial, Sophia Zaragosa and Kayla Dombrowski were all named to the second team.  

 Taylor led the Warriors with 10 goals scored on the season and added six assists for 26 total points in 19 games played. Rangel led the Warriors with 14 assists and 28 points overall during the regular season as she also scored seven goals in the process. Styskal-Ward played and started in all 19 matches and De La Cruz appeared in 13 matches with 11 starts. The duo helped make up half of the Warriors defensive back line that helped limit opponents to 1.11 goals per game this year.

Perez-Fonseca and Dombrowski completed the other half of the Warriors defensive back line as both players appeared in all 19 matches for the Warriors. Perez-Fonseca also had eight assists on the year with Dombrowski scoring a goal to go with three assists. Bissoondial wreaked havoc on the wing for the Warriors offense this year along with Taylor. Bissoondial scored five goals on the season and had one assist in 17 matches with 16 starts. Zaragosa patrolled the defensive midfield for ECC all year, playing in all 19 matches. She had one goal and two assists.
