Warriors Beat East Los Angeles, Snapping Six-Year Skid

TORRANCE, Calif. – For the first time since 2012, El Camino College got the best of East Los Angeles as the Warriors recorded a 12-9 victory over the Huskies on Friday afternoon at the ECC North Gym.

The Warriors led after the singles portion of the match and then pulled it out in the final doubles matches to record the victory. The team of Samoeon Kong and Ivy Tolentino secured the game-winning point for the Warriors to secure the first win over East Los Angeles since April 25, 2012 when ECC scored a 16-5 win at the ECC North Gym.

The Warriors open the season with a victory for the third time in the last four seasons and will be in search of a 2-0 start on Friday, March 9 at Compton College.
