Seven Players Earn All-Conference Honors

2024 All-SCC Team

TORRANCE, Calif. --- The El Camino College softball team had seven players named to the 2024 All South Coast Conference Team, it was announced late Friday.

Emma Garcia, Cheyenne Navarro and Malia Martin were all named to the All-SCC First Team while Julianna Vasquez and Madilyn Radeke were All-SCC Second Team selections. Lilly Lewis and Cerise Cervantes were both honorable mention.

Garcia had a stellar debut season for the Warriors as she led the team with 51 hits and a .425 batting average during the 2024 campaign in which she played all 40 games during the regular season. She had six doubles, one triple and an inside-the-park home run during the season while also leading the Warriors with 21 stolen bases in 23 attempts. She was on base in nearly half her plate appearances as she posted a .493 on-base percentage.

Navarro was another standout freshman that played every regular season game for the Warriors as she ranked third on the team with 39 hits and fourth on the squad with a .339 batting average. She led the team with three home runs and nine triples, which also led the SCC. She also led the team with 35 runs scored on the year, 21 walks and a .661 slugging percentage.

Martin earned her second career All-SCC selection after getting a Second-Team nod as a freshman in 2023. This season, Martin played all 40 games and was second on the team in hits (47), batting average (.376), and slugging percentage (.544). She led the team with 11 doubles and 33 RBI and she was third on the squad with 13 stolen bases in 14 attempts.

Radeke earned her first All-SCC nod in her second season with the Warriors. She posted a 13-3 overall record in the circle with a 1.85 ERA in 102.1 innings pitched. Opponents hit just .248 against her and she posted a 1.23 WHIP. In addition to her exploits in the circle, Radeke also batted .309 with 17 hits and two doubles with 10 RBI. She was fourth on the team with 12 stolen bases in 13 attempts.

Vasquez also claimed her first All-SCC selection with a second-team nod this year after playing in 35 games. She ranked third on the team with a .367 batting average, posting 29 hits including nine doubles. She recorded 17 RBI which ranked fourth on the team.

Lewis and Cervantes each earned honorable mention as Lewis played in all 40 games at second base for ECC. She posted a .321 batting average with 34 hits and scored 22 runs. She had two triples, one double and 14 RBI while also going 14-for-14 in stolen base attempts. Cervantes played in 35 games for the Warriors and batted .333 with 27 hits including one double and one home run. She had 16 RBI and scored two runs.

The Warriors finished the 2024 regular season with a 28-12 overall record and 16-5 mark in SCC play to finish in third place in the conference.
