TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had at least one hit in every inning in a 9-1 non-conference run-rule victory in five innings over visiting Santa Ana on Monday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors (15-12) pounded out 15 hits on the day to overwhelm the Dons (12-16) in a game that was originally scheduled for March 23 but was postponed to Monday due to field conditions at ECC.

Madilyn Radeke, Viviana Tamayo and Leesa Parral all recorded three hits on the day for the Warriors with Alyssa Lujan also recording a multi-hit game as she went 2-for-3. Seven of the nine Warriors starters recorded a hit and the team as a whole had at least one hit in all five innings against Dons starter Katie Neal, who suffered the loss.

Kat Gutierrez recorded the win in the circle for ECC after she went all five innings and allowed just one unearned run on four hits with one walk.

The Warriors had a baserunner in scoring position in every inning except the first and they opened the scoring in the third inning with four runs on four hits. Radeke led off with a single and then stole second and third base to bring up Parral with one out. The center fielder then hit a routine fly to right but Jayleena Perez fumbled the catch to allow Parral to reach base.

The Warriors capitalized on the error as Destiny Ostorga singled in both runners to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead.  After a groundout, Lujan smacked a triple to right field to score Ostorga and make it 3-0. Tamayo then followed with a single of her own to plate Lujan and the Warriors led 4-0 after three innings.

The Dons would get a run back in the top of the fifth but the Warriors mounted another offensive onslaught in the bottom of the inning to seal the victory.

They scored five times on five hits with the final run coming on an error at third base, allowing Parral to score easily from third to end the game via the run rule.

The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday with a South Coast Conference doubleheader on the road at East Los Angeles. Game one is set to start at 3 p.m.
