TORRANCE, Calif. --- Sophomore Kayla Inzunza helped lead an El Camino College offensive onslaught in a 9-3 South Coast Conference victory on Thursday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

Inzunza finished the day with three hits including a double with three RBI as the Warriors (14-11, 5-7) pounded out 12 hits on the day against the Lancers (16-10, 9-4).

Gabriela Ortega also finished the day with three hits with Breanna Padilla recording two hits and scoring twice in the victory.

Destiny Ostorga tossed six innings of relief to score the win in the circle, allowing just one run on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts. She entered with the Warriors trailing 2-0 in the second inning and a runner on first and no one out but got out of the frame unscathed. She would not allow another run until the seventh inning after the Warriors already had a big lead.

A five-run third inning proved to be the difference for the Warriors on Thursday. After tying the game at 2-2 in the second, the Warriors pounced on Lancers starter Austyn Hellmuth. Leesa Parral led off with a triple to center field and then, after a groundout, Malia Martin gave the Warriors the lead with a single to right-center. An infield single for Padilla put two on with one out and then Viviana Tamayo walked to load the bases.

Ortega would follow with an RBI single and then Skylar Sanchez hit a sacrifice fly to center to make it 5-2 ECC. The Warriors weren't done as Alyssa Lujan laced a single down the right-field line, scoring Tamayo. Inzunza would cap the inning with another RBI single to make it 7-2 and the Warriors never looked back.

The Warriors avoided a season sweep against the Lancers with Thursday's win. They'll look to keep rolling on Friday afternoon as the Warriors host Long Beach City at 3 p.m.
