Softball Falls to East Los Angeles

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered a 10-1 South Coast Conference loss to East Los Angeles in five innings Thursday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

It was the Warriors' (13-13, 6-7) second straight loss as they managed just one run and committed six errors, leading to four unearned runs. The Huskies (12-13, 5-7) also pounded out 12 hits, 11 of them singles, off Warriors pitching.

Alyssa Lujan, Jamelah Lewis, Genise Chavez, Skylar Sanchez and Haile Torres all recorded a hit for the Warriors.

Irene Dorado led all players with three hits on the day for the Huskies and scored three times while driving in two.

Thursday's loss marked the first time the Warriors have dropped a game to the Huskies since April 12, 2016 when ECC lost 4-3 at East LA. It's also the first home loss against the Huskies since April 9, 2015, a 5-3 defeat.

The Warriors will look to bounce back and wrap up a four-game week on Friday afternoon as they host L.A. Harbor at 3 p.m.
