Hubbard Named to All-Conference Team, Barnes III Honorable Mention

TORRANCE, Calif. --- Sophomore Gabe Hubbard was named to the 2022-23 All South Coast Conference, South Division First Team, it was announced Friday.

Hubbard led the Warriors in scoring, rebounds, steals and blocked shots during the 2022-23 campaign. He averaged 18.8 points per game and shot 53.5 percent from the field hwhile playing in 28 games for the Warriors.

He hauled in 9.5 rebounds a game to go along with 3.2 assists, 2.3 steals and 1.5 blocks a game. He score 20-plus points 13 times this season and had a season-high 32 points against L.A. Trade Tech in an 86-84 road win on Dec. 17.

Hubbard also brought down double-digit rebounds on 10 occasions. He also recorded the first triple-double during the nine-year tenure of head coach Robert Uphoff as Hubbard scored 19 points with 12 boards and 10 assists in a dominant win over Rio Hondo on Jan. 13.

In addition to Hubbard, freshman Billy Ray Barnes III was honorable mention as he played in 26 games and averaged 13.3 points per game while shooting 59.9 percent from the field. He also averaged 6.0 rebounds per game and led the team with 3.8 assists per game while adding 1.4 steals a game.
