TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College secured a series win over Pasadena on Saturday afternoon with a 5-4 South Coast Conference decision at Warrior Field.

The Warriors got multi-hit games from Lucas Bonham and Christian Miranda and an excellent outing on the mound from AJ Hiestand to secure the win.

Jack Esguerra went 4-for-5 for the Lancers and Bryan Richman was 3-for-5 in a losing effort.

After a topsy-turvy first inning in which he allowed the Lancers to score twice and send eight men to the plate against him, Hiestand settled down and would go on to pitch eight innings and strike out four to get the win. He allowed just one run after the rocky first inning.

Despite Hiestand's struggles in the first, the Warriors offense picked him up in the second as Mason Martinez and Ryan Matsukawa each came up with clutch two-out RBI singles to tie the game at 2-2.

An inning later, Miranda supplied the pop as he blasted a two-run triple to right-center field to bring in Matt Chavez and Joey Replogle who were both hit by a pitch to start the inning.

Bonham would supply the insurance in the sixth with a two-out RBI single to score Martinez from second base to give the Warriors a 5-3 lead.

Aaron Ragat would shut the door in the ninth, allowing one run on two hits but recording two strikeouts including the last out of the game to net his second save of the year.

The Warriors will return to action at home on Tuesday as they host Long Beach for the first game of a three-game SCC series. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
