Sophomore catcher Juan Carlos Camarena was named to both the American Baseball Coaches' Association/Rawlings Pacific Association All-American and All-Region Teams while sophomore pitcher David Case earned a spot on the All-Region Team, it was announced last week.

Camarena named to the ABCA/Rawlings Pacific Association All-America Second Team and the All-Southern California First Team while Case earned a spot on the All-Southern California Second-Team after they both had standout seasons in 2023.

Camarena wrapped up his ECC career with an outstanding year behind the plate. He played in 39 games and led the team with a .356 batting average with 52 hits including 10 doubles and one triple. He was fourth on the team with 32 RBI and was third on the squad with a .443 on-base percentage. He drew 20 walks against just 16 strikeouts and also stole a base, earning an All-SCC First Team nod. In addition, Camarena's 39 games all came at catcher where he managed a pitching staff that led the state with a 3.29 cumulative ERA. College of the Desert came a distant second with a 3.67 ERA.

A COVID-Sophomore in 2023, Camarena wrapped up his Warriors career with 93 total games played from 2020-23. He posted a .321 career average with 97 hits including 21 doubles, three triples and one home run with 53 RBI. He posted a .403 on-base percentage and .421 slugging percentage and will go down as one of the best Warriors catchers in the program's history.

Case was the Warriors ace on the mound despite not appearing in a game until March 7 at L.A. Harbor. A bounce-back left-hander from Oregon State, Case threw just one and two-thirds innings against the Seahawks in a 19-5 romp for the Warriors but that would be his shortest stint all year. He went at least five innings in his final eight starts and struck out at least five in every one of those games and struck out seven or more batters in his final seven outings including a pair of 10-strikeout gems on April 27 against Mount San Antonio and May 5 against Mount San Jacinto. Case would go on to be named the 2023 SCC Pitcher of the Year along with two other players. He finished the year with a 6-0 record with a 1.09 ERA in 58 innings pitched. He allowed just seven earned runs in 10 starts and struck out 68 batters.
