TORRANCE, Calif. – Spencer Long was solid on the mound and Diego Alarcon hit a home run as El Camino College recorded a 13-0 South Coast Conference victory over Rio Hondo Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field.

The Warriors pounded out 11 hits and were aided by five Roadrunners error on the way to a lopsided victory. Seven of the nine Warriors starters recorded a hit, led by Spencer Palmer's 2-for-3 day with a double, a run scored and four RBI. Alarcon hit a solo home run in the fifth and scored three times on the day while Matthew Beserra went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI.

Long was stellar on the mound for ECC, going six strong innings. He allowed just three hits, walked one and struck out eight. Nathan Draves, Joseph Brazil and Trevor Talpas combined to toss the last three scoreless innings.

The Warriors put the game away early with a big second inning thanks to some Roadrunners miscues. With two outs and two on base, Alarcon reached on an error at third to load the bases for the Warriors. A walk to Jordan Folgers forced in the first run of the game and then Palmer hammered a double to right-center to clear the bases and put ECC up 4-0.

Alarcon's solo shot in the fourth made it 5-0 and then the Warriors erupted for seven runs in the fifth inning to take a 12-0 lead and they never looked back.

The Warriors will host Chaffey in another conference game on Thursday. First pitch is set for 2:30 p.m.
