TORRANCE, Calif. --- In a battle for the top spot in the South Coast Conference, El Camino College came up a couple of games short in a 3-1 (25-22, 25-15, 17-25, 26-24) loss to first-place Mount San Antonio on Wednesday night at the ECC Gym Complex.

The Warriors (7-10, 7-3) fell to two games back of the Mounties (17-4, 9-1) in the SCC standings after the loss on Wednesday. The Warriors were outhit .231 to .218 but the teams were relatively even offensively with the Mounties logging 53 kills and 19 errors on 147 swings while the Warriors posted 51 kills and 19 errors on 147 swings.

The difference came in the service game as the Warriors made 12 service errors and had nine receiving errors despite posting 10 aces. The Mounties had just five service errors to go with 10 receiving errors, a big difference as the match was decided in a tight fourth set.
