MONTEREY PARK, Calif. - After a knotted up game at 40-40 after the first three quarters of the game, El Camino College was outscored 19-10 in the final period and fell 59 to 50 in a SCC crossover game at East Los Angeles.
Two Warriors (5-10) scored in double-figures led by Taylor Heart with 14 points on 6-9 shooting and Alexia Mason with 13 points on 6-11 shooting. Delilah Kimble-Gray of the Huskies (13-5) led all scorers with 25 points.
The Warriors shot better than the Huskies 47.8% vs 36.1%. However, East LA was 12-19 from the charity stripe while the Warriors only shot 3-7 on free throws.
The game was close at halftime with the Warriors only trailing by three down 27-24.
The Warriors were ahead 40-36 with 2:18 left in the third quarter on a layup by Ashley Nguyen. However, East LA got two baskets before the quarter ended to finish the third quarter tied at 40 all.
Both sides remained knotted up with 3:39 left in the fourth quarter at 46-46. Before the Huskies got a steal and a layup and pulled ahead for good enroute to a 59-50 victory.
The Warriors head back home to the ECC Gym Complex on Wednesday, January 15th. They will host Mt. Sac at 5:00 for the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team.
