El Camino College struggled to begin the first and second halves of Friday night's game against East Los Angeles, an 87-64 loss at the Wild West Shootout hosted by West Los Angeles College.
The Warriors (1-1) were outscored 21-10 and 27-18 in the third and it proved to be the difference in the game against the Huskies (4-1) despite another 20-point outing from Salihah Bey.
The forward went 10-for-19 from the field to lead the Warriors in scoring for the second straight game. She pulled down four rebounds and added a block. Ashley Nguyen added 17 points on 7-for-11 shooting and led the team with four assists and two steals.
The Warriors will face Fullerton Saturday at 1 p.m. in the third-place game of the Wild West Shootout.
