Bix Wins 1500M, Foster wins 110M Hurdles at CCCAA State Championships

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The 2018 El Camino College Track & Field season wrapped up on Saturday, May 19th at the CCCAA State Championships at Memorial Stadium in Bakersfield, California.  The men's track and field team continued their fantastic season culminating in a fifth place team finish. Two individual Warriors were able to take home individual state championships.

Jasher Foster was the state championship in the 110m hurdles and tied his own record setting all-time ECC time with a 14.11 finish.  Foster went undefeated against CCCAA competition the entire season and more than held his own against NCAA competitors when he raced against them.  Foster also came in fifth place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.94.

Carson Bix won the state championship in the 1,500m run with a time of 3:54.58.   Bix went undefeated against CCCAA competitors the whole season in the 1500. Bix also came in second place in the 5,000m run with a time of 15:39.83.  Salvador Capetillo of Mt. Sac came in first place with a time of 15:32.12.

Qwintin Workman came in fourth place in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.30.  He initially started the race by taking a tumble on the first hurdle but was able to recover enough and claim fourth place ahead of teammate, Jasher Foster.  His time in the race was good enough for the 8th All-Time on the ECC Top 10 List.

The 4x400 relay team consisting of Larry Hudson, Wyatt Davidson, Dhahran Woods, and Qwintin Workman came in sixth place in the race with a time of 3:17.46.  Workman ran a great 46 second anchor leg for the Warriors to almost catch 5th place American River who finished at 3:17.20.

Tyra Jackson concluded her fantastic season in the Heptathlon with a sixth place finish.  She scored a personal best 3931 points over the two day competition.
