Warriors Victorious in Multiple Events at Cuyamaca College Four-Way Meet

EL CAJON, Calif. – El Camino College won multiple events at the Cuyamaca College Four-Way Meet in East San Diego.  The men's team won fifteen of eighteen events and the women's team won ten of eighteen events.

The four-way track meet featured men's and women's teams from ECC, Orange Coast College, Palomar College, and host Cuyamaca College. 

In the men's competition, the Warriors placed first and second in seven events, swept the podium in two events, and even placed first through fourth in one event.  In the 100M dash, Dhahran Woods led the Warriors 1st through 3rd finish with a time of 10.84 seconds.  Woods would also win the 200m race with a time of 22.01 seconds.  In the 400m race, Wyatt Davidson won the race with a time of 50.16 and narrowly beat his teammate Larry Hudson who finished at 50.47 seconds.   In the 800m race, El Camino got the top two finishes.  Spencer Coneybeare won with a time of 2:02:42 ahead of teammate Trevor Martin who ran 2:02:82.  ECC swept the top three places in the 1500m race with Michael Yaskowitz winning the race with a time of 4:12:26.   Carson Bix finished in first place in the 3000m race with a time of 8:42:73.  In the 110m hurdles race, ECC placed 1st through 4th with Jasher Foster winning the race with a time of 14.63.  ECC got 1st and 2nd place overall in the 400m hurdles with Qwintin Workman (57.10) narrowly defeating teammate Justin Moore (57.47).  ECC won both relay races in the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400m competition.  Qwintin Workman won his other track event in the Long Jump competition by jumping 6.90 meters.  Luke Maxey won the triple jump event with a jump of 12.00 meters.  ECC won the shotput throw with Kyle Ebersole (11.60m) out throwing his teammate Rafael Valencia (11.30m).  However, Valencia would top Ebersole in the javelin toss with a throw of 45.34m.   Tate Curran dominated the pole vault competition with a height cleared of 5.05m (16, 6 3/4th feet) which placed him with the 4th highest outdoor pole vault of all time for El Camino College.

In the women's competition, the Warriors won 10 events with multiple 1st/2nd finishes and 1st through 3rd finishes.  Sheniya Mason won the 200m race with a time of 27.12 and she also won the 400m race with a time of 1:07:07.  Savannah Sehenuk won the 800m race with a time of 2:30.23.  Tyra Jackson won both the 100m hurdles (16.15) and the 400m hurdles race (1:10.19).  ECC won both the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relay races.  Jackson would also win the long jump (5.22m) and the triple jump (10.37m).  El Camino would swept the top three places in the javelin throw with Kendall Benson (22.17m) besting teammates Marie Abe (21.66m) and Andrea Amador (21.25m). 

The Warriors will compete again at the Cerritos Invitational on February 24th at Cerritos College.
