Curran Sets New School Record at Don Kirby Invite

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Freshman Tate Curran set El Camino College history this weekend as he competed as an individual at the Don Kirby Invite hosted by the University of New Mexico.

In a meet that featured a number of athletes from the NCAA Division I level, Curran stood out in the pole vault and set some ECC history along the way.

Curran finished in a tie for fifth place in the pole vault after posting a mark of 17-4 ½, which set a new ECC All-Time Best in the event.

It was a solid follow up for Curran, who opened the 2018 season by winning the pole vault at the South Coast Conference All Comers Opener on Feb. 2 at Murdock Stadium.

Curran and the Warriors will be back in action this week in a tri-meet against Orange Coast College, Palomar and hosts Cuyamaca on Thursday.
