TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College opened the 2018 track and field campaign with some great performances in a stacked field at the South Coast Conference All-Comers meet held at Murdock Stadium.

The competition featured men's and women's teams from ECC, Mount San Antonio, Cerritos, Pasadena, Glendale, Cuyamaca and East Los Angeles along with many unattached athletes.

For the Warriors, the men's distance medley relay team of Carson Bix, Spencer Coneybeare, Michael Yaskowitz and Larry Hudson came out as winners. On the pole vault, Tate Curran posted a mark of 15-11 ¼ to secure first place and Dhahran Woods took home the win in the 200 meters with a time of 22.34. Jasher Foster took down a pair of victories in the 60 High Hurdles (8.01) and the 300 IM Hurdles (37.99).

Along with the victories, the athletes also made their marks in the ECC record books as Curran's mark was the No. 6 all-time performance in the pole vault in Warriors history. Kyja Free's mark of 115-2 in the hammer throw is the No. 4 all-time performance and Leslie Gonzalez's 41-4 ¼ mark in the shot put is the No. 9 all-time performance.

The Warriors will compete again on Feb. 15 at Cuyamaca in a tri-meet with Orange Coast, Palomar and the hosts Cuyamaca.
