Bio

Karla Calderon enters her second season on the Warriors coaching staff in 2024.

She joined the Warriors in 2023 as the team went 25-18 overall with a 13-11 record in conference play. The Warriors advanced to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals. 

Calderon attended and played softball at El Camino from 2017-2018 and then transferred on to Oregon State University where she continued her athletic and academic career from 2018-2020. She graduated from Oregon State earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Post COVID, she played her final season at Corban University where she double mastered and obtained a Master of Science in Kinesiology and an MBA degree from 2021-2023.

During her playing career at ECC, she was a member of the 2018 team that made its first 3C2A State Championships appearance in program history. That same year she was named team MVP, Gold Glove winner, and an All-South Coast Conference First Team selection. She appeared in 47 games as a sophomore in 2018 and batted .368 with 28 runs scored, 26 RBI and 20 stolen bases. In her two-year career with the Warriors, Calderon appeared in 79 total games and posted a career .340 batting average with 53 hits and 51 runs scored. She hit 10 doubles, one triple and one home run to go with 34 RBI and 27 stolen bases with a .416 on-base percentage.

At Oregon State University she played under two-time Olympic Gold medalist coach Laura Berg, which grew her softball experience and passion which led her into her coaching career. Calderon played in 43 games for the Beavers in two years with 16 runs scored.
