Lujan Named NFCA All-American

2022 NFCA Cal-JC All America Team Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- El Camino College freshman Alyssa Lujan was named to the 2022 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Cal JC All-America Team, it was announced on Monday.

Lujan was one of 26 student-athletes selected to the prestigious team, earning an outfielder spot in the South Region.

The freshman from Whittier, Calif. was also one of four players selected from the South Coast Conference.

In her first year with ECC, Lujan was exceptional as she played in all 42 games for the Warriors. She led the team in on-base percentage (.479) and slugging percentage (.667) en route to earning a spot on the All-SCC Second Team.

She finished the season with 52 hits and a .413 batting average, both marks second only to Kayla Inzunza. She was tied for second on the team with 10 doubles. She accounted for more than a third of ECC's state leading 29 triples this season, recording 11 which also led the CCCAA during the regular season.

Lujan also scored 33 runs, had 18 RBI, walked 11 times and stole 15 bases in her first season with the Warriors.

She is also the eighth Warriors player to be selected as an NFCA All-American since head coach Jessica Rapoza took the reigns of the program in 2015.

The NFCA began naming JC-All Americans in 2014 and the Warriors have had at least one player on the team in every season except 2014 and 2021 when ECC opted out of any athletics competition due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. There was no team in 2020, also due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
