TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College dropped a South Coast Conference contest to visiting Long Beach, 2-1, on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.
The Warriors (13-12, 6-6) managed just one run on two hits while the Vikings scored just two runs on five hits in a game dominated by the pitching.
Liz Cortez pitched a complete game and allowed five hits and struck out one while issuing four walks. On the other side, Daisy Torres got the win in the circle for the Vikings as she was just a bit better, allowing just two hits and one run while walking three batters.
Kayla Inzunza and Leesa Parral recorded the Warriors hits on the day and Sarah Reels recorded the lone RBI in the loss.
The Warriors will return to action on Thursday as they host East Los Angeles at 3 p.m.
