Perez has Big Day as Warriors Defeat Chaffey

TORRANCE, Calif. – Sophomore Vanessa Perez had a career day at the plate as El Camino College scored an 8-2 non-conference victory over Chaffey Thursday at the ECC Softball Field.
Perez provided the offense for the Warriors as she went 3-for-3 at the plate with two triples and three RBI. The three hits, two triples and three RBI were all career highs for Perez.
Meanwhile, freshman Jamie Garvey picked up the victory in the circle as she tossed a complete game. She allowed just two runs on nine hits and two walks. She struck out three to pick up her third victory of the season.
Overall, seven different Warriors recorded a hit on Thursday against the Panthers (5-15). The team opened the game with five runs in the first inning and never looked back.
The Warriors will continue their four-game week on Friday as they travel to Ventura. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
