Warriors Down L.A. Harbor by Run-Rule

TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College used a big third inning to down L.A. Harbor, 8-0, Tuesday afternoon in five innings in a South Coast Conference game at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors (19-6, 12-2) scored five times in the third inning to blow the game open and cruise to victory over the Seahawks (6-14, 3-9).

Kylee Perryman hit a two-run home run in the third as part of the outburst that saw ECC send 11 batters to the plate. Marissa Garza had two of her game-high three RBI in the third with a two-run single.

Jasmine Apodaca was the lone Warriors player to tally a multi-hit game, going 2-for-2 with one RBI. She was one of nine Warriors to register a hit on the day.

In the circle, Elizabeth Cortez recorded her sixth victory of the season as she went three innings and allowed one infield hit. She walked two and struck out three.

Emily Piera tossed two innings of scoreless softball and allowed just one baserunner on a throwing error.

The Warriors will host their fifth straight game at the ECC Softball Field on Wednesday afternoon as they take on Ventura in a make-up game from a rainout on Feb. 11. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
