TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College had two pitchers combine to allow just one baserunner in a 5-0 non-conference victory over Orange Coast Monday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

Jocelyn Hernandez flirted with a perfect game for the Warriors (18-6), retiring the first 12 Pirates (15-7) she faced on Monday before allowing a leadoff single in the fifth inning. It would be the only hit and baserunner the Pirates would get all game as Hernandez and Laura Chafe combined to toss a shutout in the circle.

Hernandez picked up her seventh victory of the year in the circle as she went five innings and allowed the lone hit, facing just one batter over the minimum while recording four strikeouts. Chafe came into the game in the sixth inning and continued what Hernandez started, retiring all six batters she faced to secure the victory.

Offensively, the Warriors had seven hits overall but also had some help from some sloppy Pirates defense as four of ECC's five runs were unearned.

Kassidy Robinson when 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored while Diamond Lewis, Hernandez, Alena De La Torre and Mina Nakawake all had a hit apiece.

The Warriors have now won seven of their last eight games and will return to conference action on Tuesday when they host L.A. Harbor. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
