El Camino Compton made quick work of Compton Thursday afternoon with a 9-0 run-rule victory at Compton College.
The Warriors (16-5, 11-2) scored their fifth straight victory with the shutout over the Tartars. Elizabeth Cortez picked up the victory in the circle, tossing three innings while allowing just one hit and one walk. Laura Chafe and Jasmine Apodaca also tossed an inning each in the win.
Offensively, the Warriors recorded six hits including two from Helaina Gallardo. Diamond Lewis, Jocelyn Hernandez and Alena De La Torre each drove in two runs in the victory.
The Warriors will return home for action on Saturday with a pair of games against Cypress and College of the Canyons. First game against Cypress is set for 11 a.m.
