Warriors Shutout against Palomar College

SAN MARCOS, Calif. - The Warriors were shutout 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Palomar College

The Warriors (6-3) couldn't get the offense going against the No.3 team in the state, Palomar College (8-2).  The Warriors were outhit 10-to-3. Diamond Lewis, Alena De La Torre, and Kassidy Robinson were the only Warriors able to get a hit.  

Audrey Braun was great in the circle for the Comets as she held the Warriors to just two hits over four innings of work.  Elizabeth Cortez took the loss for the Warriors after giving up four runs on seven hits, one walk, and striking out one batter.

The Warriors had an opportunity to open the scoring in the third inning after getting runners on second and third.  Kassidy Robinson had a one out single and stole second base. She advanced to third on a groundout. Diamond Lewis walked and stole second base with two outs. However, Mina Nakawake grounded out to end the frame for the Warriors in the third inning.

Palomar would then strike first in the bottom half of the third inning after Taylor RIley doubled in two runners to make it a 2-0 game.  They added two more runs in the fourth inning after Kendall Kates tripled in a run and she scored in the next at-bat on a sac bunt by McKenna Crawford.

The Warriors next host Long Beach City College on Tuesday, February 26th.  First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
