Warriors Win Both Game at Crafton Hills Mini Tournament

YUCAIPA, Calif. - The El Camino College men's water polo team won both games at the Crafton Hills Mini Tournament on Friday. The Warriors beat hosts Crafton Hills in the first game and defeated Santa Monica in the second game.  The Warriors have beat those teams twice already before Friday after beating them at the Cypress tournament then the Mt. Sac Tournament.

El Camino College 21, Crafton Hills 8

The Warrior defeated Crafton Hills 21-8 in their first game of the day.  

The Warriors had a commanding 13-4 lead after two periods before outscoring Crafton Hills 8-4 in the final two periods.

Caio Vieira and Bronson Garel led the Warriors with 4 goals a piece.  Matheus Trefilio had three goals, Aidan Gutierrez had two goals, and Zackary Johnson had two goals. 

Garel led the team with three assists and four steals.  Gary Bellingham made 10 saves for the game.

El Camino 8, Santa Monica 6

The Warriors finished the first period with a 2-1 lead over Santa Monica before Santa Monica took a 4-2 lead after two periods of play.  The Warriors finished the third period tied 5-5 before finally pulling away in the 4th period to make it a 8-6 game.

Tyler Reed got the game tying goal at 4-4 in the third quarter.  Zackary Johnson gave the Warriors the lead at 5-4 before Santa Monica scored an equalizer to end the third period.

Caio Vieira got the game-winning goal for the Warriors with the first goal in the 4th period.

Caio Vieira and Bronson Garel each scored two goals for the Warriors.  Tyler Reed had four assists in the game. Gary Bellingham had three assists and 14 saves.

The Warriors return to the El Camino Aquatics Center on Wednesday, October 12th for another conference match against Chaffey College.  Swim-off is set for 4:30 p.m.
