TORRANCE, Calif. – El Camino College overcame two deficits to overtake Long Beach 3-2 (20-25, 25-19, 24-26, 29-27, 15-12) Friday night at the ECC South Gym.

The Warriors overcame a pair of one-set deficits in the match and edged the Vikings for their first regular season win over LBCC since March 4, 2015.

Joseph Sico dished out 59 assists to lead the Warriors and added three digs and two blocks. Cinjun Coe led the way offensively with 20 kills and added five digs and four blocks. Gabriel Vargas-Featherstone recorded 15 kills and five blocks while Connor Payne tallied 10 kills and six digs.

The fourth set proved crucial for the Warriors as they overcame four match-points to score an incredible 29-27 win to force a fifth set.

In the final frame, the Warriors took a 4-0 lead and, despite a number of runs from Long Beach, the Warriors never lost the lead and Vargas-Featherstone's kill ended the match and secured the victory for the Warriors.

The team will now face San Diego Miramar at home on Wednesday night. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
