TORRANCE, Calif. - El Camino College was trailing late in the game against Rio Hondo before Larry Lopez stepped up to preserve the 2-2 draw with the Roadrunners on Friday evening at the ECC Soccer Field.

After back-to-back goals in two minutes from the Roadrunners that gave Rio Hondo (5-5-4, 1-0-2) a 2-1 lead, the Warriors (8-1-3, 1-1-2) kept their nerve to get at least a point from the game. Jorge Alvarenga headed a ball to Larry Lopez who's initial shot went off the defender and the ball juggled to him again and he was able to blast it to the far corner to make it a 2-2 game.

The game was a physical game that featured 34 fouls and seven yellow cards (six in the second half).  The Warriors had 8 shots on goal compared to the Roadrunners 6 shots on goal. Luis Garibay made four saves for the game.

After a scoreless first half, the second half was full of action.

The Warriors took the lead in the 52nd minute via Kalyl Silva.  Matthew Villongo played a long ball to Cristo Deras who was able to chest it down and get the ball to Silva.  Silva was able to blast it underneath the crossbar to make it a 1-0 game. A minute later Deras set up Silva gain with a wide open shot however Silva missed it with the inside of his foot and the shot sailed wide.

Rio Hondo scored two goals in two minutes in the 74th and 75th minute to take a 2-1 lead.  Federico Hurtado crossed a ball to Havier Zaragoza who slotted it into the net. Hurtado again played the playmaker for the second goal as his ball was lofted over the El Camino defense to Fernando Guerrero who slotted it past Garibay to make it a 2-1 game.

The Warriors were able to keep pressure on the Roadrunners until the equalizer came in the 88th minute via Larry Lopez.  The Warriors will look to get over their past three results with a road game at East Los Angeles on Friday, October 25th.  Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
