TORRANCE, Calif. - It was announced on Tuesday that El Camino College freshman goalkeeper, Luis Garibay was named the National Player of the Week for Junior Colleges by the United Soccer Coaches

The goalkeeper recorded a road shutout and made two saves against Bakersfield College on Tuesday, October 1st.

The Warriors defeated LA Harbor 4-1 on Tuesday, October 8th.  Garibay made five saves in the game. 

For the season, Garibay has allowed just three goals in 810 minutes played.  He has made 29 saves and has a .923 save percentage. He has a 0.33 goals allowed average and a 8-0-1 record.  Garibay and the strong defense in front of him have six clean sheets for the season. The three goals scored against him have been via the penalty kick.  

Garibaby is second in the state with six shutouts.  The freshman keeper is currently tied for eleventh in the state with just three goals allowed for the season and fifth in the state with a 0.33 goals allowed average.  Three of the four keepers in front of him have played significantly less minutes however.  

The #4 Warriors have their biggest test of the season as they will host #2 Cerritos at home on Friday.  Kick-off is set for 4:00 PM.
