Golf Finishes 5th in PCAC Finals

OCEANSIDE, Calif. - The golf team traveled to the El Camino Country Club on Monday, April 24th for the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference finals. With all five PCAC schools in attendance, the Warriors ended the day in 5th place, shooting 421 in the morning and 423 that afternoon.

In the morning, sophomore Theodore Giapapas and sophomore Michael Ozawa both shot 82 while sophomore Greg White was one shot behind the pair (83). Freshman Ryan Omoto shot 85 while freshman Matthew Rico (89) and sophomore Jerred Gallardo (90) were both one shot within each other.

During the afternoon round, Ozawa led the Warriors shooting an 82. Giapapas ended the day with 84 and both White and Gallardo finished with 85. Omoto came in shooting 87 and Rico rounded out the day with 97.

"It wasn't [the] result we were looking for, but it was good to see the team maintain their enthusiasm throughout a long day. Playing 36 holes in one day is tough but we grinded and did the best we could," shared assistant coach Christopher Chin.

The Southern California Regionals will take place at the El Camino CC on Monday, May 8th with the State Tournament set for May 15th at the Santa Maria Country Club.
