TORRANCE, Calif. --- For nearly 11 minutes, El Camino College and San Bernardino Valley were locked in a close game.

But the Warriors widened the gap and essentially put the game away in the span of less than four minutes as they went on to trounce the Wolverines, 52-18, in a non-league contest on Saturday night at Murdock Stadium.

With 4:24 left in the first quarter, Mark Waronek II broke a scoreless tie with a 30-yard field goal to give ECC a 3-0 lead. On the ensuing Wolverines possession, Jacob Kalolo batted a pass attempt by SBVC quarterback Robert Eggleston high into the air and retrieved it himself, returning it 16 yards for the pick-six and just like that the Warriors had a 10-0 advantage.

A Stephen Bradford Jr. touchdown run from 10 yards out made it 17-0 with 52 seconds to go and then the Warriors special teams came up with a turnover as Justin Evans stripped SBVC return man Freddy Fletcher at the Wolverines' 22-yard line. The Warriors recovered on the 18 and found pay dirt on the first play of the drive with an 18-yard touchdown run from Brian Santana-Fis to make it 24-0 with 37 seconds left in the first half.

The Wolverines did score on their next drive but the Warriors would take a 38-6 lead into the locker room at halftime and never looked back.

As a team, the Warriors rushed for 255 yards, marking the third straight game the team has eclipsed the 200 rushing-yard mark in a game. Santana-Fis led the way with 63 yards on just six carries with a touchdown. Bradford Jr. racked up 52 yards on just seven carries with two scores. Overall, the Warriors had 10 different players record a rushing attempt but none of those players had more than seven carries in the game.

On defense, Chance Williams led the way with six tackles (five solo) in a game that saw 35 different players record a tackle for ECC. Kalolo, Nicholas Loney Jr. and Abdul Muhammad each recorded an interception while Evans and Antonio Morillo each forced fumbles as the defense recorded five takeaways.

Following Saturday night's action, the Warriors currently lead the SCFA in rushing yards a game, averaging 242.0 per contest. Chaffey is in second with an average of 202.0 per game. Overall, the Warriors have racked up 726 rushing yards, which ranks fifth in the SCFA but the Warriors have played just three games while the rest of the teams in front of them have played four.

The Warriors will hit the road next week as they face Fullerton for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
