Brown Named SCFA Defensive Player of the Week

SCFA Week 2 Players of the Week Release

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College sophomore linebacker Lando Brown was named the Southern California Football Association Defensive Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Brown earned the award after leading the Warriors with nine tackles (five solo) and three quarterback sacks. He also led the way with four tackles for a loss and also recovered a fumble.

The nod was the second SCFA Player of the Week award in Brown's career. He also earned the distinction in 2021 after his week 7 performance in a 30-24 win over Mt. San Antonio.

On Saturday, the Warriors defeated Bakersfield 30-20 as Brown and the defense held the Renegades to just seven points over the final 45 minutes of action.

The Warriors will return to action this week with a road contest against Ventura. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
