No. 9 El Camino College was selected to its third consecutive bowl game Sunday as the team was selected to the Patriotic Bowl, the Southern California Football Assoctiation announced Sunday.

The Warriors (6-4) will be on the road and face No. 5 San Diego Mesa (7-3) on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Merrill Douglas Stadium on the campus of San Diego Mesa College. The Patriotic Bowl is one of five non-playoff bowl games sponsored by the SCFA. The others are the Western State Bowl, Beach Bowl, American Championship Bowl and Southern California Bowl.

This will mark the third straight year the Warriors will play postseason football after a five-year absence (2012-16). The Warriors hosted and won the Beach Bowl in 2017 against Palomar and were in the CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs last season as the No. 4 seed, falling to No. 1 Riverside.

The Warriors wrapped up the 2019 regular season with a 6-4 record and 2-3 mark in the National Central League, a fifth-place finish.

The Olympians finished second in the National Central League after going 7-3 with a 3-2 mark in conference, tied for second in the league with Cerritos and Fullerton.

This will mark the second time these teams will meet on the season. The Warriors defeated San Diego Mesa 45-27 in the National Central League opener at Murdock Stadium on Oct. 19. The Warriors racked up 448 total yards of offense while the defense recorded four sacks en route to the win.
