Warriors Finish Fifth at Cross Country State Championships
FRESNO, Calif. - The Warriors came in fifth place overall at the CCCAA State Championships on Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno, Calif.
The Warriors came into the race ranked 6th in the state and finished one spot above their ranking by getting in fifth. Mt. Sac won the team race with 83 points. San Diego Mesa came in second with 138, Glendale third with 159, Clovis fourth with 160, and the Warriors came in fifth with 184 points. Hannah Hartwell of Redwoods College came in 1st place overall with a time of 17:20.
Sequoia Gonzales led the Warriors and came in 7th place overall with a time of 18:39. Ami Jacobson came in 14th place with a time of 18:54. Rania Gomaa was the third finisher and came in 27th place with a time of 19:25. Haidee Lopez was the fourth finisher and came in 77th place with a time of 21:13 Brianna Johnson was the fifth finisher for the Warriors and came in 115th place with a time of 22:21.
After finishing in the top seven, Sequoia got 1st Team All-State and Ami got 2nd Team All-State for finishing in the top 14.
