Cross Country Finishes in Second Place at Mt. Sac Invitational

WALNUT, Calif. - After resting most of the top performers for the men's cross country team at last week's Brubaker Invitational, the Warriors came back strong with a second place finish at the Mt. Sac Invitational over the past weekend. 

The Warriors came in second place in a field of eleven of their fellow CCCAA competitors. Mt. Sac dominated the men's team 4 mile run with a score of 28.  While the Warriors came in a solid second place with a score of 81.

Manny Gil led the Warriors top five finishers with a seventh place finish and a time of 21:39.  Michael Yaskowitz was second for the Warriors with a tenth place finish and a time of 21:45. Farooq Tariq was third with a fourteenth place finish and a time of 22:16.  Christian Moreno came in 28th place with a time of 23:25 and Adrian Sixtos was the fifth finisher for the Warriors coming in 46th place with a time of 24:39.

In the women's race, Carmen Hernandez continued her solid season by coming in ninth place overall with a time of 20:44.

With four runners still on the mend for the Warriors, they now head into the biggest part of the season.  The Warriors will head to Legg Lake in Whittier, Calif on October 25th for the South Coast Conference Championships.
