Yaskowitz, Sehenuk Earn All-Conference Honors at South Coast Conference Championships

The El Camino College men's and women's cross country squads posted solid finishes at the South Coast Conference Championships.

On the men's side, Michael Yaskowitz recorded a fourth-place finish after crossing the finish line in 21:29 to earn All-Conference honors. Carson Bix crossed in 21:57 and Caleb Ko finished in 22:14 for place 13th and 17th overall respectively, leading the Warriors to collective third-place finish behind champions Mount San Antonio and runners-up L.A. Harbor.

For the Women, Savannah Sehenuk finished sixth overall with a time of 19:25.7 to earn All-Conference honors and pace the Warriors. Brianna Harmon finished 12th with a time of 19:59.7 and Deanna Takaoka finished 16th with a time of 20:06.6 and Sarah Simpson was just out of the top-20 with a 21st place finish and time of 20:48.4.

Overall, the Warriors finished fourth with 102 points. Mount San Antonio and L.A. Harbor finished tied for first with 31 points and Cerritos was third with 99 points.

Both teams now advance to the Southern California Regional Championships on Friday morning as the Warriors will join 28 other squads at Central Park in Santa Clarita, Calif. The top 14 teams on each side will advance to the CCCAA State Championships.
