Calhoun Leads Women’s Water Polo to Decisive Win

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College came out firing, building a huge lead in the first quarter and never looking back in a 15-2 win over visiting East Los Angeles in the South Coast Conference opener at the ECC Aquatics Center.

The Warriors (3-2) scored 10 times in the opening period and never looked back as Jackie Calhound led the way with four goals on the day. Melissa Brill and Eden Brook added three apiece and Brooke Baudendistel scored twice in the victory.

Luxanne Vargas got her first start in net for the Warriors and recorded the win, allowing just two goals.

The Warriors will return to action on Saturday as they head to the Jaguar Mini Tournament hosted by Southwestern College. They will open the day against San Diego Miramar at noon and end the trip with a match against Grossmont at 2:40 p.m.
