Women’s Volleyball Gets Top-Four Seed, Hosts Fullerton in Opening Round

El Camino College was named the No. 4 seed in the upcoming California Community College Women's Volleyball Southern California Regional Playoffs, it was announced Thursday.

The Warriors (21-5) will host No. 13 seed Fullerton (16-10) on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. in the ECC South Gym. It will be the second straight season the Warriors open the playoffs with a home game against the Hornets. Last season, the Warriors were the No. 3 seed and need five sets to eliminate the N0. 14 Hornets.

This season, the Warriors are coming off their 10th straight South Coast Conference title after winning the inaugural SCC Tournament. It was the program's first solo title since 2016 and first outright title since 2015, before the SCC was split into two divisions.

The Hornets enter the postseason on a three-game winning streak to close out Orange Empire Conference play. They finished the year 16-10 overall and finished in a three-way tie for second place in the OEC with Orange Coast and Cypress with an 11-5 mark.

Tuesday's matchup will mark the second meeting between the Warriors and the Hornets this season. The Warriors edged Fullerton in five sets on Sept. 7, the Warriors sixth match of the season and Fullerton's third at the time. The Warriors trailed 2-1 in the match before taking the last two sets to secure the victory.

The winner of Tuesday's match will take on the winner of the match between No. 5 Moorpark and No. 12 Pasadena in the second round on Saturday, Nov. 30.
