Leilua, Hazell and Donatucci  Receive Top Honors as All-Conference Teams Announced

TORRANCE, Calif. - Sophomore Phina Leilua, Freshman Kelly Donatucci, and El Camino College Head Coach Liz Hazell all received top honors as the All-South Coast Conference were announced.

Leilua was named the South Coast Conference South Most Valuable Player.  Leilua led the conference in kills (275) and kills per set (4.10). She also ranked 9th in the state in kills per set and was 35th in the state in total kills.  She was 7th in the conference with 192 digs and 9th in the conference in digs per set (2.87). She was second in the conference in hitting percentage (.300) and 7th in the conference in blocks per set (.54).  She had 8 double-doubles for the season.

In her second year as head coach of the women's' volleyball team, Coach Liz Hazell earned her second consecutive Co-Coach of the Year award with LBCC Head Coach Misty May-Treanor.  She led the Warriors to a 21-3 overall record and 7-1 conference record for a co-share of the South Coast Conference South title. The Warriors had an eleven game win streak from 10/10 to 11/09 in which the last 8 games were straight sweeps.  

Kelly Donatucci was named to the South Coast Conference libero of the year.  Kelly Donatucci led the conference with 333 digs and 4.69 digs per set. She was 20th in the state in digs per set and 35th in the state with 333 total digs.  She also contributed 57 assists, 35 service aces, and 8 kills for the season.

Meris Ewell was named to the All-South Coast Conference First Team.  The freshman from Lakewood was 8th in the conference with 164 kills and 8th in the conference in kills per set with 2.22.  She led the conference in hitting percentage with an efficient .357 average. She was second in the conference with blocks per set (.78) and first in the conference with 58 blocks (6 solo).  Ewell also had 53 digs, 11 service aces, and 7 assists for the season.

Mikayla Clark was named to the All-South Coast Conference South First Team.  The Torrance native was 9th in the conference with 147 kills and 9th in the conference with 2.17 kills per set.  She was 10th in the conference with 147 digs and 15th in the conference with 2.19 digs per set. She was 8th in the conference with a (.190) hitting percentage.  Clark also had 18 blocks, 15 service aces, and 4 assists for the season.

Caitlin Donatucci was named to the All-South Coast Conference South Second Team.  The Manhattan Beach native was second in the conference with 499 assists and in assists per set with 6.40.  Donatucci also had 107 digs, 25 service aces, and 9 kills for the season.

Sophia Loiola was named to the All-South Coast Conference South Second Team.  The sophomore from Manhattan Beach was 11th in the conference with 115 kills and 13th in the conference in kills per set with 1.55.  She tied for 8th in the conference with 29 blocks and 10th in the conference in blocks per set (.39). She also had 53 digs and 3 assists for the season.

Keri Isara was named to the All-South Coast Conference South Second Team.  The freshman from Torrance was 5th in the conference with 328 assists and assists per set with 4.49.  She was third in the conference with 37 service aces. She also had 81 digs and 2 kills for the season.  

The Warriors will begin postseason play on Tuesday, November 20th at home against Fullerton College.
