Warriors Fall at Long Beach, Share Conference Title

LONG BEACH, Calif. – No. 5 El Camino College had a chance to claim the outright South Coast Conference, South Division title on Tuesday night but No. 9 Long Beach City College had other ideas and claimed a share of the title with a 3-2 (25-17, 20-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-12) decision at the Hall of Champions Gym.

The Warriors (21-3, 7-1) had their 11-match winning streak snapped on Tuesday. Phina Leilua led the team with 16 kills and added 15 digs while Mikayla Clark added 14 kills and 17 digs. Meris Ewell had eight kills and seven blocks while Caitlin Donatucci (27) and Keri Isara (22) combined for 49 assists.

For the Vikings (20-3, 7-1), Sierra Davis had 21 kills on 48 swings with just four errors while Tylie Johnson had 20 kill. Jessica Blakeman recorded 15 kills and Levila Iosua dished out 54 assists.
